Turn six questions into 17 capability checks

It is not about who has more features. It is about who can actually run the store: hardware, offline trading, regional expansion, AI execution and multi-store growth.

Answer these six questions before you switch

If every answer points to "we do not want to be held hostage by hardware, regions or system versions," ClawPOS was built for your store.

🖥️

Do we have to replace our hardware?

No. iPads, Android tablets, Windows registers, phones and handheld POS all run ClawPOS; most existing printers, scanners and scales can stay. Pilot one device, then roll out store by store.

📴

Can we keep selling offline?

Yes. Products, prices and tax rates are cached locally. Checkout, ordering and printing keep running for 72 hours without internet, then sync incrementally when the connection returns.

🌍

Do we rebuild for a new market?

No. Six regional packs package tax, privacy, receipts and payment rules. Select and load; HQ keeps one standard across stores in different markets.

🤖

Is the AI just a chatbot?

No. AI reads orders, inventory, cost and labour data, answers why margin moved, and recommends the next action. Every conclusion traces back to source data.

📈

Do we need a new system when we grow?

No. Brand→region→store structure lets HQ publish products, menus and promotions; each market loads its own compliance pack, and dashboards drill down to store and item.

💳

Can we see the total cost first?

Basic is free, Pro is $50/month/store with no up-front licence or long-term contract. Keep your hardware, open regional packs with the subscription, and expand store by store.

Run in parallel first, switch the whole store later

No need to close the store or rebuild from scratch. Keep your hardware, run real orders through both systems, and switch once totals, tax and reporting match.

1

Export and import data

Export products, menus, members and historical sales from your traditional POS and import them in bulk, with duplicates merged automatically and every imported record verifiable.

2

Audit and reuse hardware

Inventory your devices: terminals, scanners, printers and scales on the compatibility list connect straight away, and devices that are not are assessed by our team within 48 hours.

3

Run both systems in parallel

Run old and new side by side for 3-7 days and compare the same orders across both, confirming totals, tax and report definitions match before choosing a cut-over date.

4

Cut over and train staff

Switch store by store according to the rota. Staff are typically confident within about an hour, and the AI weekly summary and attribution takes over day-to-day questions with a weekly summary.

Who gains the most from ClawPOS

We would rather be clear about both sides, so neither of us wastes time.

✅ Strong fit

Restaurant and retail brands operating across regions
You need payments, tax and privacy compliance in several markets, and a head office that manages them all in one system.
Stores with unreliable networks
Peak delivery hours, weak signal in older buildings or temporary outages must never interrupt checkout, so offline-first resilience is essential.
Growing brands scaling from one store to a chain
You are in the 2-20 store phase and want a system that scales with you instead of being replaced every few openings.
Restaurants with a high delivery share
Several delivery platforms at once means manual entry leads to missed and wrong orders; two-way menu and stock sync removes that risk.
Stores that want data-driven decisions without analysts
No dedicated analyst on the team, so you want to ask the system a question instead of building a pivot table.

⚠️ Let's talk first

A small store that only needs one offline till
If delivery channels, loyalty and reporting are genuinely out of scope, a traditional standalone register may cost less, and we will say so.
A business deeply tied to a closed custom system
Migration effort depends on how tightly your in-house back office is coupled, so we scope the integration work before committing.
Unusual or specialized hardware
Specialized weighing or industrial devices need an assessment first, usually concluded within a week.
A region we do not cover yet
Requests outside the six regions are welcome. A new regional package usually ships within 3 months, but it needs to be scheduled.
Expecting a fully free chain-wide rollout
The basic plan suits a single store; central distribution, cross-store stock and global dashboards are paid capabilities, and a demo lets you verify them first.

The six questions asked before every switch

Can ClawPOS directly replace the traditional POS I use today?

Yes. Products, menus, members and historical sales can be exported from your traditional POS and imported in bulk, with duplicates merged automatically. Hardware on the compatibility list can be reused as-is, and you can run both systems in parallel for 3-7 days until the figures match before cutting over completely.

Can I still take payments when the store loses internet?

Yes. Products, prices and tax rates are cached locally, so checkout, ordering and printing keep working for 72 hours offline. Data syncs incrementally once the network returns, conflicts are resolved by server timestamp, and the offline status is shown live at the top of the screen.

Do I have to replace my hardware to run ClawPOS?

No. ClawPOS works with 100+ devices from 20+ brands including Sunmi, Newland, Honeywell, Gprinter and Xprinter. Terminals, handhelds, scanners, printers and scales are auto-detected and plug-and-play. Devices outside the compatibility list are assessed by our team within 48 hours.

Is it more expensive than a traditional POS?

The basic free plan is free forever and suits a single start-up store. The Professional plan is $50/month/store and includes both Restaurant and Retail editions, all regional packages, delivery platform sync and the AI weekly summary and attribution, with a 20% discount on annual billing. There are no one-off licence or customization fees, no long-term contract, and you can upgrade or downgrade at any time. The basic plan comes with a cross-platform app for iPad, Android tablets, Windows registers and phones.

Which devices does ClawPOS run on, and is there a free version?

ClawPOS is cross-platform software running on iPads, Android tablets, Windows registers, phones, handheld POS and commercial tablets, starting with iPad and Android tablets. The basic plan is free forever and suits a single store, while paid plans are billed per store and include every regional package, with upgrades or downgrades at any time.

Where is my business data stored, and is it safe?

Business data is stored locally by region, with independent keys per tenant and PostgreSQL schema-level isolation. Traffic uses TLS 1.3 and data is encrypted at rest with AES-256. Card numbers never touch disk and are stored only as tokens, meeting PCI DSS Level 1 requirements, with tamper-proof audit logs retained for at least 7 years.

How is ClawPOS different from Toast or Square?

Toast and Square are built around payments and their own hardware loop. ClawPOS is built around an AI-native software layer and open device compatibility. We do not require you to replace your hardware first; payment and tax rules are configured through regional packs, and specific payment providers depend on the local support list. For a growing store, the difference is migration cost, regional replication and whether AI can execute real operating actions — not the length of a feature list.

Bring your current POS checklist. Let's run the numbers.

We compare more than features: hardware reuse, regional compliance, time to launch and three-year total cost — using your real store data.
